VFC for Wikis and Web Caching

In today’s caching and replicated distributed systems, there is the need to minimize the amount of data transmitted, because in the first case, there is an increase in the size of web objects that can be cached, while in the second case, the continuous increase in usage of these systems, makes that a page can be edited and viewed simultaneously by several people. This entails that any modifications to data have to be propagated to many people, and therefore increase the use of the network, regardless of the level of interest each one has on those modifications. In this paper, we describe how the current web and wiki systems perform caching and manage replication, and offer an alternative approach by adopting Vector-Field Consistency to the web and wiki environment. Additionally since users are not interested in all of wiki page content, we also describe a way of filtering wiki pages, so that they only contain content that is useful to the user.
